The Calgary Area

Calgary is the largest city in the Canadian province of Alberta, located roughly 80 kilometres from the Canadian Rocky Mountains. As of the 2009 civic census, Calgary's population was 1,065,455 and the CMA (Census Metropolitan Area) had a population of 1,185,466. Calgary is also near the US Border (Montana), approximately 3 hours drive (250 km). It is Canada’s fourth largest city, after Toronto, Montréal, and Vancouver. It's economy is mainly rooted in the petroleum industry and agriculture although tourism, and technology are also on the rise.

Homburg Harris / Penn West, Calgary
