Homburg Harris is a two tower Class AA office tower development in the core
downtown of Calgary. The towers are 10 and 20 story tall, constructed of glass
and concrete and contain approximately 635,000 square feet of net leaseable
area. Homburg prior to completion of this project sold both towers to a third
party, but continued on as the developer to complete the project for the
purchaser. Both tower’s office space has been fully leased; as well as, the main
floor retail in Tower 1. This project also includes a 379 stall underground
parkade and will have plus 15 pedway connections over 9th avenue to
other prominent buildings in the area. Tower 1 was completed in June 2008 and
Tower 2 has been completed December 2009.
Calgary is the largest city in the Canadian province of Alberta, located
roughly 80 kilometres from the Canadian Rocky Mountains. As of the 2009 civic
census, Calgary's population was 1,065,455 and the CMA (Census Metropolitan
Area) had a population of 1,185,466. Calgary is also near the US Border
(Montana), approximately 3 hours drive (250 km). It is Canada’s fourth largest
city, after Toronto, Montréal, and Vancouver. It's economy is mainly rooted in
the petroleum industry and agriculture although tourism, and technology are also
on the rise.
