Conceptually, this project is a multi use urban resort adjacent to Old
Montreal in the heart of Montreal. This project is to revitalize and redevelop
the historic Chateau Viger into a market leading hotel and to enhance the land
around the hotel with condominium development; retail development; and office
space development. The original concept would incorporate a significant
underground parkade that would be able to provide parking for buses and others
that would be visiting the resort and old Montreal.
Montréal is the largest city in the province of Québec and after Toronto, it
is the largest city in Canada. As of January 1st, 2006, Montréal had an
estimated population of around 1,650,000. Montréal is also a major international
commercial, industrial, financial, and cultural hub, with a downtown area
largely filled with skyscrapers.
